Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the Onda mobile application (“Onda”, “the app”, “we”, “us”) and this website handle information. It applies to the Onda app for iOS and to onda.keremka.com.

1. Who we are

Onda is developed and operated by Kerem Karabacak (the “data controller”). For any privacy question or request, contact us at onda-support@keremka.com, or through the contact page.

2. Information we collect

Onda does not require you to give us personal data. Specifically:

• No account, no sign-up. Onda does not ask you to create an account and does not collect your name, email, phone number or similar identifiers.
• On-device data only. Your favorite stations, saved songs, recently played items, language and app settings are stored locally on your device. This information is not transmitted to us and we cannot access it.
• Purchases. Optional premium features are sold through Apple's in-app purchase system (StoreKit / App Store). Apple processes the payment — we never receive or store your payment card details. Apple may share limited, aggregated transaction information with us so that premium can be unlocked and restored.
• No first-party analytics. We do not run an analytics SDK and do not build a usage profile of you. However, our advertising partner does collect limited data to serve ads — see section 3.

3. Advertising (Google AdMob)

Onda is free and supported by advertising. We use Google AdMob to display ads in the app. To select, deliver, cap and measure those ads, Google and its advertising partners may collect and process data such as:

• device and advertising identifiers, including the iOS Advertising Identifier (IDFA) where you permit it;
• your approximate location derived from your IP address;
• ad interaction and app-usage signals (for example, ads shown, taps and basic device/technical information).

On iOS, Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework asks for your permission before any cross-app tracking takes place. If you decline, AdMob serves you non-personalized or limited ads instead. You can review or reset your advertising identifier and tracking preference at any time in your device settings (Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking / Apple Advertising).

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Onda also shows Google's consent form (Google User Messaging Platform) the first time you open the app, so that you can accept or refuse personalised advertising and the associated data uses. Your choice is stored by that framework, and you can reopen the form later from Onda's settings screen to change it.

Google's handling of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy and by how Google uses information from apps that use its services.

4. Firebase services

Onda uses two Google Firebase services. Both operate without an account and neither is used to profile you:

• Firebase Remote Config delivers the app's configuration — which station lists to load, editorial selections and country settings. To fetch that configuration, Firebase sends Google a pseudonymous installation identifier (Firebase Installation ID) along with technical information about the app and device. The identifier is reset when you delete and reinstall the app.
• Cloud Firestore stores the messages you deliberately send from inside the app — see section 5. Nothing is written there while you simply browse or listen.

Google acts as our processor for these services and its handling is covered by the Firebase privacy documentation.

5. What you send us on purpose

Two features in the app write data to our Firestore database. Both are optional, both are triggered by you, and both are limited to a few submissions per day:

• Station requests. The station name, country, stream address and any note you type, plus the app version and a timestamp. Because there is no login, the sender is always recorded as “anon”.
• Broken-stream reports. The station's name, identifier and stream address, plus the app version and a timestamp. No free text is sent.

Please don't include personal information in the free-text field — we don't need it. These records are used only to fix and expand the station catalogue, are never used for advertising, and are deleted once they have been processed.

6. Station data and streaming

To show the station catalogue and play live radio, the app connects to several services. When it does, those services necessarily receive technical connection data (such as your device's IP address and user-agent), the same way any web or streaming request does:

• Our station server (keremka.com) — for countries we curate ourselves, the station lists are served from our own host. It receives the request and standard server-log information; it does not receive anything about your favorites or listening history.
• Community Radio Browser (radio-browser.info) — the open station directory used for the rest of the world, for search and for station metadata.
• Radio station stream servers — the audio itself is delivered directly from each station's own streaming server, operated by a third party. The station's operator can see the connection like any other listener's.
• Apple — the App Store and StoreKit handle downloads, updates and purchases under Apple's Privacy Policy.

We do not control how these third parties process data. Please review their own privacy policies for details.

7. Song recognition

When you tap the song-recognition button in the player, Onda uses Apple's ShazamKit. A short digital fingerprint of the audio is generated and sent to Apple's music recognition service to be matched; Apple returns the track information. The fingerprint cannot be turned back into audio, we never receive it, and nothing is recorded or stored by us.

Onda normally takes those few seconds of audio from the radio stream itself. If the stream cannot be sampled, it falls back to the microphone — and only then does iOS ask for microphone permission, which you can refuse or withdraw at any time in iOS Settings. In either case the recognition runs only after you tap the button, and stops as soon as it finishes. Apple's handling is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.

8. Notifications

If you use the sleep timer, Onda asks for permission to send you a local notification when the timer runs out. These notifications are generated on your device — no push server is involved and no notification data reaches us. You can withdraw the permission at any time in iOS Settings.

9. Device diagnostics

If you have enabled it in your iOS settings, Apple may share standard crash and performance diagnostics with developers. This is controlled by Apple and by your device settings, and any such data is aggregated and not used by us to identify you.

10. Website

This website does not show ads and does not use cookies or advertising trackers. It stores a single preference — your chosen language — in your browser's local storage, which never leaves your browser. Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address in order to serve them. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (including IP addresses) for security and reliability.

11. Data retention

Because your in-app data lives on your device, you stay in control of it. You can clear your favorites at any time inside the app, and removing (uninstalling) the app deletes its locally stored data. Station requests and stream reports are kept only until they have been handled. Data processed by advertising and platform partners is retained according to their own policies.

12. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under the EU GDPR and Turkey's KVKK), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal data, and to object to personalized advertising. You can control ad personalization through the consent form, the App Tracking Transparency prompt and your device settings. For any other request or question, email onda-support@keremka.com and we will respond.

13. Station owners and rights holders

Onda links to publicly available live streams and shows each station's name and logo so listeners can recognise it. If you operate a station — or hold rights to a name, logo or other material appearing in the app — and you do not want it listed, write to onda-support@keremka.com. We can remove a station from the app without waiting for an App Store update, and we act on these requests within one business day. See the contact page for what to include.

14. Children

Onda is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
